Things to do at Potawatomi Wildlife Park
Animal watching
The park is home to many animals. Come listen and quietly observe them in their natural habitat.
Biking
Bike riding is allowed on trails. Please keep pedestrian safety in mind and be cautious around hikers.
Bird Watching
Potawatomi Wildlife Park is a fine place for birding. A wide variety of foods and cover attract an interesting array of birds.
Camping
No overnight camping except for organized youth groups, 4-h groups, and scout groups for educational purposes and booked through the park manager in advanced. The park hosts one community campout every July open to the public check out events for more details.
Canoe/Kayak Rental
The Tippecanoe River is one of the most scenic rivers in Indiana. A limited amount of canoes and kayaks are available for rent.

Dog Walking
Dogs are allowed on park trails. Dogs must remain on leash at all times! The owner must maintain control and is responsiblefor the actions of the dog. Please remember our other visitors and leave your dog home if it is not people friendly. Proper disposal of pet waste is required.
Field Trips
Potawatomi Wildlife Park's field trip program provides a range of activity options. Tailor your experience by mixing and matching activities that suit your group. For more information click here
Fishing
Fishing on one of our ponds is available for organized youth groups only and special events. Individual fishing is not allowed. While public fishing is not allowed anywhere on the park, it is allowed on the Tippecanoe River at "The Wall" Historic Park on Birch Road.
Geocaching/Letterboxing
Go on a modern day treasure hunt. There are several geocaches on the park for your enjoyment. Nighttime geocaching is not allowed. The park has 5 official boxes placed through out the park. Hiking
Our nearly five miles of trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for your enjoyment. All our trails are rated easy to moderate.They offer a relaxing change of pace, as they wind through forests and fields and past our wetlands and the Tippecanoe River.

The park is very popular for family, seniors, wildlife photography, and more. You are welcome to use the park all we ask is you check in at the trail entrance and consider making a donation there or online. To see park photos click here
Star Gazing
At Potawatomi Wildlife Park we dare to say we are the best place to sit under the stars in Indiana. Potawatomi was recognized as Indiana's first Dark-Sky Preserve by the Indiana Council on Lighting Education (ICOLE), The International Dark-Sky Association (IDA), and the Indiana State Senate (Resolution #7, 3/31/03). But what is a dark sky? It is a place where the darkness of the night sky is relatively free of interference from artificial light. We have visitors come from Indianapolis, Michigan, and surrounding counties just to observe major sightings and take pictures of the night sky. If you or your family are interested in learning more about stars, we have an amazing local club that utilizes our observation field regularly. You can check them out on Facebook under "Warsaw Astronomical Society of Indiana." So whether you are hoping to observe a major sighting, planning a romantic date under the stars, or need a simple family evening activity, we are the place for you!
UTV Tours
Explore Potawatomi Wildlife Park with ease! Whether age or disability prevents hiking or you simply prefer a guided tour, our UTV, Marshall, awaits. Accommodating up to five passengers, Marshall is driven by our knowledgeable staff. Choose from two options:
Full Park Tour: A 1-1.5 hour comprehensive journey highlighting key sites and fascinating facts.
Drop-off Service: Enjoy 30 minutes at the serene knoll gazebo picnic table overlooking our largest pond.

Visit Michael & Sharon Stephan Visitor Center
The visitor center is filled with many hands-on educational activities, and historical, and taxidermy displays. It is open from sunrise to sunset. For more information click here
Volunteer
Potawatomi Wildlife Park relies on volunteers to deliver on its mission. Our volunteers provide various levels of support—whether physical labor to help maintain trails and facilities, help staffing an event, or providing other skills and expertise relevant to our operations as a non-profit, there is an opportunity for everyone to contribute. WEDDINGS / RENTALS
All gazebos and picnic tables are available for everyday non-event gatherings unless a reserved sign is present. Bessinger Pavilion is the exception as it is exclusively rental only. Please refrain from using the firepit area without a reservation. For more information click here
